Guestaddition problem in new VirtualBox installation

Hi,
I’ used Suse 10.3 a new installed 11.0. All the old files stayed intact. VirtualBox could find the old VM’s, but not the guestadditions. I received the following message when I start up;
*The virtual machine could not be started because the DVD image ‘/usr/share/virtualbox/VBoxGuestAdditions.iso’ which is attached to it could not be found or could not be opened. Please detach the image and try again.

Result Code:
0x80004005
Component:
Console
Interface:
IConsole {d5a1cbda-f5d7-4824-9afe-d640c94c7dcf}*

If I start up, I cannot go to settings to install them. Is there a solution???

if you used the openSuse rpms there will be no “guest additions” as they’re
not open sourc’ed

you can do a “touch /usr/share/virtualbox/VBoxGuestAdditions.iso” to create
a dummy file and the vm should start or possibly “discard” that particular
state of the vm

Suse 11.0 x64, Kde 3.5.9, Opera 9.x weekly

Hi,
Thanks for responding. Do you mean I’ve to create an empty file with the following name; /usr/share/virtualbox/VBoxGuestAdditions.iso??

I tried it and it worked, so thanks!
