Making USB disks read-only
I need to know how to disable USB sticks or make them read-only for non-root users in openSUSE10.3 and beyond (specifically, we're using 10.3 and 11.0 right now)
I don't want to disable the USB ports completely in the BIOS because we use other USB devices (keyboards, mice etc). Also, we system administrators do occasionally need to write to a USB stick (as root) so the solution is hopefully a user or group-level restriction.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My colleagues and I have searched all over the net and we're not having any luck finding a solution for these newer versions of openSUSE.
Thanks in advance.
