Default free openSUSE 11.0 boxed version arrived today

Today I got the openSUSE 11.0 boxed version delivered. I must say it looks nice. Sleek box and professionally done.

Also a nice surprise : It's one (dual-layer) DVD for both 32 bit and 64 bit installs! First time I've seen that.

    Cheers & thanks openSUSE.org!,

I think starting with SuSE-9.2, and carrying on with 9.3, 10.0, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3 and now 11.0 that the DVD was a dual layer with 32-bit and 64-bit. It is just in the previous versions there was a separate DVD with the source code. I think 10.2 was the last version where CDs were included with the boxed version.

I remember a version where the DVD was double capacity, but flip-over. Obviously no printing except some tiny print around the inner hub. Confused the heck out of my friend who put it in the wrong way by chance and found that he was looking at the sources. He though they had forgotten to include an install DVD.

    Yep, two

I took my goodies out of the carton & was about to throw it away & thought to look. Sure enough they were there down in the box -- not a big as earlier ones though.

A friend purchased a music album several years back and ended up getting two cd's..the top one was printed as it should have been..both the top and bottom one had the music but the 1st side of bottom one was blank because it had stuck to the top one during the printing phase. I still have that cd in my changer in the other room.
