    Default Mythtv and rt-kernel

I'm about to resurrect my mythtv project. The front-end rig will be used for playing SD and HD dvbt broadcast - will run opensuse 11, nvidia proprietary driver, mythtv rpms from Packman.

For the purpose of video/audio playback quality, is there any performance benefit in using the realtime kernel?

    Any wisdom appreciated.

Performance benefit of course not, but disk seeks -- empirically observed -- cause less staggering with video/audio playback.
