    Default Making SuSe11 DVD

    Hi All,

I want to install OpenSue 11 on 10 computers. Right now I have only Live Cds, but I need to install both KDE and GNOME with all the applications. The DVD installer must be the best bet for it, but unfortunately I am not able to download files which are larger than 3GB(thanks to corporate policies) . I am wondering is there any way I can build a new DVD image?. I can download all the RPMs from SuSe download server. Pls advice how to proceed in this?.

    TIA,

    Vinu

There used to be a script available to make a DVD from the CDs. A quick search shows: SourceForge.net: make SUSE dvd

As I recall you need some extra disk space all the CDs, work space & space to hold the new DVD -- or you can get a disk full error.

(With earlier versions, we did that often with development releases as they were not available on DVDs.)

    Hi,

    thx for the reply.

The live cds don't have all the packages. applications like Adobe,VLC etc are stored in the non OSS repositories. Is there any way I can add those packages and its dependencies in to this?. I guess the normal openSuSe11 DVD installer contains everything.

    Thanks,

    Vinu

The problem is that the improved download options don't include CDs as
before, only DVD, Live CD <spit>^ or minicd/net options :-(

^ OK as a Live CD, but was useless as an installation CD for my system -
the Live CD and the installed system seemed to disagree over disk order
:-( (SATA as IDE and IDE).
