openSUSE 11: mouse buttons in konqueror
hello,
I am using openSUSE 11 and kde3.5. in firefox 3 the thumb buttons on my logitech g5 mouse work fine (out of the box).
what is the easiest way to make these buttons work in konqueror? i'd like to map "back"/"forward" to my mouse buttons.
TIA,
pcween

In Konqueror, select 'Settings -> Configure Shortcuts'
If you look through there, you'll find entries for the 'back' and 'forward'
actions. They're currently set for ALT-LEFT or XF86Back for the back action
and ALT-RIGHT or XF86Forward for the forward action.
If you select one of those, let's say 'back'... then click on the 'custom'
radio button below the list, you should be able to then push the desired
mouse button and have it appear in the list.
Perform same for 'forward' action, save and hopefully, you're up and running.
Of course, *THIS* computer I'm on at the moment has a simple mouse... and
can't test that theory... Let me check other...
Yup, it worked on the other machine with the snazzy mouse. Only caveat is
that the buttons must be recognized by KDE. If Firefox sees them properly...
then setting the shortcuts should too.
{Sigh} Standard Disclaimer applies... Your Mileage May Vary (YMMV). Hope it
works for you though. "Worked for me!" (hate that!)
