    Default typing a password

    Opensuse 11 KDE 4

Noticed something a little unusual but not really a biggy.

In previous versions of Opensuse when I got a password prompt for administrator rights - typing in the password I could see a range of dots like this "●●●●●●●●"

Now when I type a password I see this instead "////////"

    What's up with that?

Just a reminder, I suspect, that you are about to do something which may affect the whole system.

    ummm . . . yeah?

We're talking about accessing Yast2 here which is basically what controls the system.
You need to enter a password when entering Yast2 from a user account.
