    Default lm_sensors

lm_sensors and ksensors does not seem to be available from openSUSE 11.0 repos. Sensors and hddtemp work OK from command line , but I like the constantly running ksensors applet for AMD 64x2. All community repos enabled. Also tried kde and kde backports repos, not available?

    System: openSUSE 11.0 (i586)

    Hi
    Installed by default here, just not turned on;

    malcolml@artigo:~> which sensors-detect
    /usr/sbin/sensors-detect
    malcolml@artigo:~> ll /etc/init.d/lm*
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3077 2008-06-06 19:15 /etc/init.d/lm_sensors
    malcolml@artigo:~> /sbin/chkconfig lm_sensors
    lm_sensors off

    In yast2-software management
    Use the search for sensors.

It is in the suse 11.0 repo (Suse_11_oss)
After you installed it, run sensors-detect

    Y'all aren't answering the question...

yes, lm_sensors, sensors, sensorsd are all available. I've installed them and they work great.

ksensors is not available, and is the person's initial question.

I went and grabbed the source, am attempting to recompile my own. Fighting the dual lib/lib64 quirkyness.

It has been said to try SuperKaramba. Might just try that, if only to see what's available. I liked the option of having the CPU temps on the taskbar, versus on the desktop. Desktop is usually covered up with konsole sessions.

Yes I've got sensors working on the command line and Ksensors, which I downloaded from somewhere (I can't remember where) now shows both hard disk temps on applet, but even though K8 Temp was detected by running sensors-detect, Ksensors has not detected core temps, yet core temps are on the terminal!
I think I'll have to wait till Ksensors is available thro YAST

I dug around a bit, still working on the Ksensors app, but found 'kima', which actually is kinda nice, since it's a dock app, it has it's own space and the temps don't move around in the tray.

I prefer the Celsius temperature display, so had to change my 'units' to 'metric' in the 'Regional & Accessibility -> Country/Region -> Time & Dates' and restart the dock.

    Take care,

Got ksensors working properly, core, hard disk temps & fans.
Removed the version of Ksensors I had and downloaded the rpm from the following link:
    RPM resource ksensors
    the actual rpm: ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/fedora/devel...6.fc9.i386.rpm.

I tried Kima from YAST but I prefer ksensors. Thanks all
