Default nntp and new forum features?

    Hi,

it seems a lot of nifty features that are requested here are not implemented because of the nntp dependency.

Is there an overview if or how much nntp is actually used by "our" users? As far as I know the use of nntp appears to be noexistent in general .... but then what do I know?

And might there be a turning point where enough new features are requested that the nntp thingy itself might be subject of discussion for holding back the development of this forum?

Just a quick FIY, if users set up their client correctly, NNTP will be
close to transparent. Personally, I can only tell by the way NNTP quotes
like in this thread as I made it through NNTP but that is based off the
    way the client responds.

I'd better be careful how I answer that last question, except to say that
    I'm using NNTP.

Yes. The stats are counted on the NNTP side and all messages posted on the
web count as the same "newsreader".

TBH I'm a little confused with the figures.

    Users Msgs Msg/U % Name
    1495 10365 7 90 vBulletin USENET gateway

Is that saying 10365 msgs total both ways then what is the 7?

    I presume
    19 362 19 3 Thunderbird the 19 means 19 posted msg using thunderbird.

Which if the case 192 msgs total, no/yes? I just struggle to believe 10365 have been posted.
Man first, have a try at Info, have a look at Wiki, if all that fails Scroogle!!!!!
If I've helped click on the Rep button I don't know what it does but it sounds cool.
