sux in opensuse 11 ??? Where is it ?

It looks like sux has been removed from opensuse 11. How do I get root with X forwarding support under a basic userprofile ??

Is there a replacement ?

Do I really have to log out of X each time I need to perform an admin task for which I need X in a terminal ??

I hope the 10.3 package works on opensuse 11.

You can do one of the following options:

  1. Use kdesu <program>
  2. Search the menu for System->Terminals->Terminal superuser mode

I think you are looking for ’ su - ’ or gnomesu / kdesu or similar?

Not sure what you mean with X forwarding?

Cheers,
Wj

Su has integrated X forwarding support, and sux has just been a link to su,
for some time now. Try

% ls -l which sux

on 10.3 for fun.

So just use su where you used to use sux, and it should all work.
(“Should” as in “Murphy lives”, that is.
