    Unhappy AV issues

    Hi guys,

    I am having issues playing A/V with totem an VLP. The strange thing is that video and audio files played for a short time before quitting. Now the video player crashes shortly after loading the file. I am not sure what to do with this one. I am including the error log Firefox creates in safe mode. I have all of the restricted codecs installed, so I do not think this is an issue regarding that.

    ***update*** I just disabled desktop effects, and video started working again. could this have cause the problem? and why would that be?

    The program 'totem-plugin-viewer' received an X Window System error.
    This probably reflects a bug in the program.
    The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
      (Details: serial 64 error_code 11 request_code 140 minor_code 19)
      (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
       that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
       To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
       option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
       backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

    Thank you for pointing me towards Desktop Effects!

    This thread offers more information on the problem. I decided to disable Desktop Effects until the problem is fixed.
