Thread: font size

    Default font size

I am an newly arrived refugee from Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy/Gnome). Although it worked fine for me at first, it eventually began to crash and became unusable. I could have done a reinstall but there were lots of complaints about this version of Ubuntu (the only form of Linux which I have ever used), so I decided to try something new. I have just successfully installed Opensuse 11.0 KDE, and will have many questions for you here.
Before posing my first question, however, I must express my amazement that the installation from a CD involved almost none of the screens which your installation guide had led me to believe would appear. I saw only the boot screen and then the one about copying root file system. I was not asked to agree to any License Terms or asked for my time zone or how I wished to partition the hard drive or asked for my name etc. The next thing I knew I had a green screen with some small icons and some very small print under them.
This leads to my first question: how can I make the default font size bigger, for the desktop and the toolbars etc.?
    Thanks.

OK, I now realize that I was just using the live cd. I clicked on install and answered the questions etc. But I would still like to know how to increase the size of the print on the toolbars, etc. I have no such problem with material on the web or in Open Office, since I know how to zoom in and out through View, but nothing seems to affect the size of print in the toolbars themselves. Any suggestions?
