Thread: nvraid drivers

    Default nvraid drivers

I have a K8N Neo4 Platinum motherboard which has an nvraid controller on its sata ports. I want to set up a sata raid 1 with two 320GB HDD at the same time as I install opensuse 11 but have been unable to find any information about it.

The motherboard manual says to install a driver if used under windows which makes me think that the raid controller is a pseudo hardware controller that is actually run in software. Can the same thing be achieved using a kernel module?

The nvidia raid is a software raid implementation.

With opensuse 11 all you have to do is create the raid array in your bios and suse will take care of the rest. It will automatically detect your raid setup upon the installation process.
