    Question Broadcom Card 4318... HELP!

Hey everyone! I just installed opensuse 11, and I downloaded and installed all of the mandatory updates (I received my internet access through an ethernet cable that's connected to my wireless router)... I couldn't connect to the internet wirelessly with my built in broadcom 4318 wireless card before and after the updates were acquired... SO, my question is: Is there anyway I can enable this card to work on my Acer Aspire 5000 Laptop? Please give me the steps to take... THANKS to whoever answers my question!

With your ethernet cable plugged in (you will need Internet access),
open a terminal and type the command

    sudo /usr/sbin/install_bcm43xx_firmware

That script will download the appropriate Broadcom proprietary
drivers, extract the firmware contained within, and install said
firmware where b43 will find it. Your wireless should work from that
    point on.

Uhm, so Larry... I THINK I LOVE YOU! That was like magic... You're AMAZING... I've actually just been trying different distros, because none of them could give me wireless, but you just did baby, yeah! SO EASY, THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!

ONE more question though, if I typed that in the terminal with a different distro, and I had ethernet cable plugged in, would my wireless internet work like it does right now!?

    THANKS AGAIN

    You are welcome.

No, that script is special to openSUSE. There is a similar script for
Ubuntu and Debian distros. I'm still trying to find out what Fedora
does. The reason is that the installation instructions at
    http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Dr...reinstallation are
being updated to describe the special steps for various distros.
