Default [11.0] realtek driver no longer works

    hi,

before I went to 11.0 I kept all the drivers I used for 10.3 and 11.0 found most of the things, except my sound card.

I tried using my realtek HD audio driver but it wouldn't find the sound card and now as a result I get a Xine error that will not go away.

first off, is there a way to get rid of the Xine error(it claims some file is no longer around xine.so i think it is)

does anyone know why the driver will not work for 11.0 but does for 10.3? is the kernel for 11.0 that much different?

    thanks

    Yes.

To try and help you, please, can you work your way through the audio troubleshooting guide, and see if it can help you solve your problem.
    SDB:AudioTroubleshooting - openSUSE

Please pay attention to the need to install alsa-firmware and also check your mixer settings thoroughly.

If that does not work for you, then please can you post the output of:
    a. the URL(s) provided by running the two diagnostic scripts recommended by the audio troubleshooting guide. Scripts_to_run_to_obtain_detailed_information

    b. the output of running in a terminal/xterm/konsole:
    rpm -qa | grep alsa
    rpm -qa | grep pulse
    rpm -q libasound2
    uname -a
    cat /etc/modprobe.d/sound
