totem won't play network file

Totem will not play a file that is on the network. For example take the file called smb://treys/movies/mymovie.avi. Totem will start but does not play. Tried it from the command line and I do not get a error, it just sits there.

Movie plays fine on mplayer or if I move the movie over to the local drive.

Here is odd thing, I have dual boot Ubuntu and OpenSuse 11 and the same file plays fine using Ubutnu.

Yes I have noticed this too, and funnily enough if you watch the system monitor it appears as if the data is being sent, but totem just isn't playing it
