Default Printing with Firefox 3 & openSUSE 10.2

Unsure which forum was appropriate for mentioning this problem.

Attempts to print in Firefox 3 on my openSUSE 10.2 system invariably
result in a crash in which I get the following error message:

    The application Gecko has crashed.

However, you don't have installed bug buddy, the
GNOME crash report tool. If you want to help us
to make GNOME better, please, install it

Well, being that I am a KDE user, I don't feel any particular
inclination to help with making Gnome better. Gecko was not intalled on
my system, so I installed it to see if that made any difference. It didn't.

Perhaps I should have mention that my system is x86_64.

It's good to know that it isn't something specific to my setup.

Same problem for me. 10.2 32-bit & KDE + FF3. When I try to print, Bug Buddy jumps up.

    Any solutions?

I've got the same problem. Just thought I would point out this page:

HOWTO Integrate Firefox with KDE - Gentoo Linux Wiki

The advice given there does not work, in fact most of the firefox options described don't seem to exist in Firefox 3. But maybe it will help someone else find a solution. I'm assuming that if we could force firefox to print via kprinter, it would bypass the bug.

Hi all, I have the same problem :-(

    Firefox version: 3.0.1 (same problem with 3.o.o) Operating system: Linux (openSUSE 10.2 32-Bit - KDE: 3.5 - Kernel: 2.6.18.8-0.5-xen)

After updating form FF 2.x to FF 3.x I can't print web pages. When I try to do so, firefox closes and gives a message that "Gecko" has crashed. I have installed bug-buddy (though I am working with KDE) and created a report/log with bug-buddy. Its to long to attach it here. But I have posted it to the firefox support forum (FF 3 (linux) is crashing while I'm trying to print). I hope, this can help to solve our problem.

I solved the problem by installing Opera.

I think the solution is mentioned on the bottom of this page:

    Hi all,

thank you, the patched gtk2 for openSUSE 10.2 mentioned above works fine! Printing with firefox 3 works now!
