64bit OS and browser plugins
Hi all,
I've been using openSuse 10.3 32bit since it came out and i'm ready to update to 11, and looking for a try at the 64bit version.
I don´t think all have any problem with my usual apps except for the browser and plugins.
How it this dealt with in the 64bit version of 11?
Can i use a 64bit browser and 32bit plugins through some sort of wrapper? Or does everything have to be 32 bit, browser and plugins?
And if this is the case do i also need java32bit, mplayer32bit, for example, so that the 32bit plugins also work?
regards,
Carlos

Re: 64bit OS and browser plugins
If you are talking about the Java broswer plugin, all you have to do is uninstall the x86_64 version of Java, then install the i586 versions of Java and the plugin. There is currently no x86_64 version of the Java plugin

Actually OpenJDK does work... just not fully. So some Java applets
will work, others will not.

Re: 64bit OS and browser plugins
Tried openJDK and the 64bit plugin and is working so far on the things i tried
Also, flash (32bit) is working with a 64bit firefox... don't know how
So everything seems to be working now, thanks
