    Default Pan, How to Post?

    Hi Folks,

I just started using PAN in Gnome today and found a server (freenews.netfront.net). The program works great but why can't I seem to post? When I try it comes back saying "Not Allowed to Post to Alt.Appalachian". Is netfront a read only news server? If so, can anyone suggest a free server that allows one to post?

I must admit I haven't used newsgroups since the mid 1990's when it came standard on my ISP's Unix shell account. So maybe I'm just missing something in being out of the loop for so long.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks again,

    -joe

    Hi Malcolm,

I tried my ISP...won't connect, but when I plugged in Aioe.org Home Page, it worked like a charm! Thank you so very much! -joe

    Hi
Normally your ISP will have some info on their site about usenet, it
should be something like news.name.of.isp. I think AIOE only let you
    post 50 times per day.
