My openoffice installation has this really strange quirk that is highly annoying. I would really appreciate some help since I haven’t been able to find a solution for it so far, neither on the web nor at the forums, and it is really interrupting my work with ooo.
The problem:
After using the search function in writer or in calc, or after applying a (standard) filter in calc, my text input stops. That is, the program is no longer responsive to my keyboard (the mouse input, however, still seems to work).
My work environment:
openoffice v 2.3.0
openSUSE 10.3
KDE 3.5.7 “release 72.9”
Linux 2.6.22.17-0.1-default i686
Panasonic laptop CF-Y2 “Let’s note” (it’s a Japanese model, equivalent to the “Toughbook light”)
I’ve installed both English and Japanese languages on my system.
