    Default PRO/Wireless 4965 AG on Toughbook CF-52

At the risk of beating a dead horse here.
    I run OpenSuSE 11.0 RC-1??? on a Panasonic Toughbook 52 with 4 gigs of DDR2 memory and a 160 Gig drive
I know this (OpenSuSE 11.0) hasnt even been released yet, I really should just hold my horses for a couple of days or weeks.
I had the same problem on the same computer running Open SuSE 10.3. Now it just works, just leave it alone for a minute and it finds the WiFi base all by itself and it logs on.
How it was fixed, I have no idea, it was probably fine to start with just that I would jump on it before it had a chance to do its own thing???

For now (running OpenSuSE 11.0) it sees the wifi card and even sees the base I want to connect to, but when told to log on NOTHING happens.

Anyone having this "challenge", anyone found a solution?

    Thank you,

    RR

On my T61, the key to success was letting the installer find and install the
iwl4965 drivers AND (thanks to toharris) installing the ipw driver FROM the
RC1 DVD. If you install the later version from the non-oss repo it will NOT
work. Then configure the card and reboot.
