    Default how do I change the admin password?

    In the OpenSUSE control center I've only been able to change the user password. Thanks for your help.

    I think you have to be root to be able to change the root password.

    Easiest way I know is to open a console and enter:
    su - (and enter root password)
    passwd

    edit: When using YaST's user manager set the view filter to system users. Then you will see root listed along with the other system accounts.

    You mean the 'root' password? Login as 'root' and use the Control
    Center. Otherwise become root ('su') and then type 'passwd' from the
    command line.

    if you have forgotten root password, then the above commands don't work, in which case you need to look here

    but if you know the password, then the above commands will work. remember you never will need to log in as root as a user.

    Just got myself a new 64 character root password (using the terminal/console). Can't wait to get my hands on the v11... Thanks again.
