    This would indicate it's a problem with the gfx drivers on your laptop. What hardware and driver are you using ?

    thnx Martin for your link....unfortunately it didn't work.
    my laptop is whitelisted!!!!! and it still won't suspend
    this is output of s2ram -n
    Code:
    linux-r1f2:/home/nicom # s2ram -n
    Machine matched entry 559:
        sys_vendor   = 'TOSHIBA'
        sys_product  = 'Satellite A100'
        sys_version  = ''
        bios_version = ''
    Fixes: 0x3  S3_BIOS S3_MODE
    This machine can be identified by:
        sys_vendor   = "TOSHIBA"
        sys_product  = "Satellite A100"
        sys_version  = "PSAA9E-0QG049DU"
        bios_version = "6.00   "
    See http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram for details.

    If you report a problem, please include the complete output above.
    If you report success, please make sure you tested it from both X and
    the text console and preferably without proprietary drivers.
