Cool Software Removal - Quick tip

If you are concerned about keeping things clean and or you have limited HDD space, you might want to consider removing un-needed dependencies when deleting software:

    See this:

Ah, I never noticed that. Thanks, caf.

I presume it works only for the dependencies of the package being removed, or does it work for all orphaned dependencies?

It will not remove orphaned Packages.

    To everyone: Orphaned Packages are:

Sorry, my mistake. I was not referring to packages whose sources have been removed, but to dependencies from removed packages, and not required for any of the remaining packages in the system. For example, if I install a video app that pulls in ffmpeg, if then I remove the video app, ffmpeg will stay installed, although it won't be run anymore.

Maybe I should have called them the not-needed-anymore packages .

    I assume, as you imply
it works only for the dependencies of the package being removed
Other than that I am not 100% sure
