    Default alternative for rar with gui??

    any good alternative for rar with gui ? ark is not doing well with rar files, i am not being able to open password protected rar files.

    Tried file-roller? I think it's a Gnome-based app but if you have the
    pieces installed it should work. Otherwise, how about 'unrar' from the
    shell? Looks like it has a 'p' option for password.

    i was looking for one kde based and with gui, but i guess i should try those you suggested.

    You can use winrar in wine if you really want to. It works really well in wine.
