Well I have too many favourites to mention, and great films are coming out all the time, e.g. recently The Edge of Heaven (original title Auf der anderen Seite) by Fatih Akin, but I thought I'd mention a funny mockumentary screened again on TV recently here, though already 8 years old, Get Ready to be Boyzvoiced, in the tradition of This is Spinal Tap. I don't know if it has much distribution outside Norway and Australia though.

Off the top of my head best:
POTC Black Pearl (the sequels inhale)
    The Matrix
    Roots
    Monty Python: Holy Grail
    Princess Bride
    Titanic

    IMHO the most offbeat:
    Mystery Science Theater 3000
    Monty Python: Holy Grail
    Princess Bride
My computer always used to beat me at chess, but it is no match for me since I changed the competition to kick boxing

The Princess Bride did become quite a classic.

    I loved Time Bandits.
What about Ice Pirates (I think that was the name)
Princess Bride is another good one. I watched it yesterday with my 4 year old, he loved it.

    I simply have one movie, that's my best and most off-beat at the same time ;

Leaving Normal [Meg Tilly, Christine Lahti]

It's an undiscovered gem I think

I don't see many movies, but looking through my DVD collection (most from the discount bin at Wal-Mart) (in no particular order):
    O Brother, Where Art Thou
    Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
    Deliverence
    Two Mules for Sister Sarah
    Shanghai Knights
    War Games
    The Hunt for Red October
    Popeye (with Robin Williams)
    The original Star Wars
I used to be just bozo, but I guess it's late. Zzzzz...
