OpenSuSE 11 - Cyrus SASL problem
Hello!
I updated my OpenSuSE 10.3 x64 to the new OpenSuSE 11. Everything went fine, but I cannot login into my email-account anymore.
I use cyrus with SASL authentication.
In /var/log/messages I found an error:
Jun 23 11:21:19 linux master[19115]: about to exec /usr/lib/cyrus/bin/imapd
Jun 23 11:21:19 linux imap[19115]: executed
Jun 23 11:21:19 linux imap[19115]: accepted connection
Jun 23 11:21:19 linux perl: No worthy mechs found
when I want to login via cyradm:
cyradm -u cyrus localhost
I use the following config for cyrus:
imapd.conf:
configdirectory: /var/lib/imap
partition-default: /var/spool/imap
sievedir: /var/lib/sieve
admins: cyrus
allowanonymouslogin: no
autocreatequota: 10000
reject8bit: no
allow8bit: yes
quotawarn: 90
timeout: 30
poptimeout: 10
dracinterval: 0
drachost: localhost
sasl_pwcheck_method: saslauthd
sasl_mech_list: PLAIN LOGIN
lmtp_overquota_perm_failure: no
lmtp_downcase_rcpt: yes
I cannot find the program "ctl_cyrusdb" anymore ... but maybe it has changed in this version.
Any ideas?
Regards
Dennis

Problem solved. Changed the authentification from PLAIN to DIGEST-MD5 ... now everything works fine ... maybe cyrus isn't compiled with plain authentication in OpenSuSE 11.

Maybe you didn't install the PLAIN authentication mechanism. Last time
I looked, Suse didn't package that as part of the standard cyrus-sasl
RPM but in a separate micropackage called cyrus-sasl-plain. No idea why.
