  1. Pihole server installer - Live ad-free

    What is a Pihole server?
    It's a tool / server that uses dnsmasq and blocklists to make a local network ad-free. When we visit websites, the pages contain dozens of links to other urls to feed us with ads and tracking cookies. What Pihole does is send these requests to /dev/null once the pihole server is setup as the first DNS in your router. Ik can be run on quite minimal hardware with just enough operating system to get it running.

    Unfortunately although aaa_base may provide /etc/profile it does not seem to actually write it.

    (@nrickert -- I did check for the presence of a .rpmnew or .rpmsav before copying from profile.)

  5. Installing openSUSE LEAP-42.2 on two EFI PCs

    I installed openSUSE LEAP-42.2 on my Toshiba Z930 laptop, and also on my Core-i7 custom PC over the Christmas break. Both PCs use EFI and I am not very experienced with EFI, so I thought that this might be a good learning experience. The downside was I was doing this with a head cold (ie headache, mild-fever, stuff sinus, hacking cough ... etc .. which is not the smartest condition to be in when trying something new).

    The Toshiba Z930 laptop installation experience was very smooth ...
