I never had a single instance of a trojan or a virus. These machines were always connected to the Internet. That feat was accomplished by only allowing general users to log in without privilege. The password for the account with administrative privilege was a closely guarded secret. In other words, these Windows computers were run the same way as one would run an equivalent set of Linux machines. The only real difference was that each of them did a forced reboot in the middle of the night. It _WAS_ Windows after all. |

Woah, I hope your joking right ? In my experience they are one of the most biased and corrupt news organisations around. They certainly do masquerade as being fair, unfortunately that BBC died long ago. As for the quality of the technical journalism coming out of the BBC, this is just the sloppy and poor standard I would expect. J |

Yes, sadly I would have to agree with you mostly there @tuxituk. Although I'm not yet convinced that they are corrupt.
This whole issue was purely the result of poor reporting by the BBC's "journalist", and not caused by Gizmodo as people in this thread have pointed out. The sad thing is that (intentionally or not) the BBC represents England, English culture, and the English language, sadly the language ability of the current crop of reporters is way below the standards I expect from such an organisation, it has certainly gone down the toilet in the last 10 years.

It's the British Broadcasting Corporation. England is only part of the United Kingdom. There are minority languages spoken other than English. ttps://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/uk.html conventional long form: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; note - Great Britain includes England, Scotland, and Wales |

I think the BBC are less biased than other sources of news, for example the Sun & Mirror. And compared to Fox news in the US... watching Fox makes me cringe. If I cared about a particular news story (I do sometimes) I'd usually find a few varied sources for it & jump to my own (biased) conclusions. Quote:
