No, MS is just trying to be a hypocritical troll yet again. On one side they make big hoopla when they start something related to open source, on the other side they (secretly) attack open source and spread FUD about it... It's busisness as usual for MS

btw, guess what happened to these Hyper V patches MS sent to the Linux kernel and made a big hoopla about how friendly it is to Linux development..... get this: the MS devs responsible for them ran away and cannot be contacted at all. Gred KH, responsible for maintaining these patches for the kernel, has tried numerous times to contacts the MS devs without success and said if they don't show up and claim them, he'll remove them for 2.6.32

"According to Microsoft, the non-profit foundation will not focus on specific projects, but aims to close the perceived gap between open source communities and commercial software companies"
Well, as the comment that article links to for further details and a particular opinion says- what gap? A lot of FOSS development is done by developers working for commercial software companies. With MS on the other hand, it's hard not to perceive the situation as a "gap", when a certain Mr. Ballmer denounced open source as a sort of "cancer". So, hard to take seriously at this point, but then again, stranger things have happened. |

Best Buy employee's leaked some information about MS promotion to Best Buy's Team of Sales people..
Knocking Linux and claiming that Windows OS is safer and more stable. "NY Times-Tech section" Irony that the worse virus-intrusion to put a damper on "Cloud Computing" infects only Window's OS. MS is beginning to show some desperation for Best Buy does not sell any computers with Linux according to the article.. Why would MS go that far for the vender's who are already in there camp? Quick note..Have you ever been familiarize with a file called "Cookies-Index.dat" as a system file in Windows?. A system file that can not be removed. Cleaning requires special software..Binary and can be explored by other computers. Unchecked will have a mile of data including "Double Click"..Reading the info is difficult, however, some information is obvious. So much for Security..Bundling Vender's software that allows them to update and upgrade leaves a lot of holes. Love my Linux and hope the MS culture does not influence the Community in any way. Thank you for your attention tom
