30k? Now remove all the dead accounts, singleposters, etc.
Quality is still better than quantity. |

This goes for just about every other forum, and because this is a wordwide one where you can't speak your native language, even more.
Also not everyone needs or wants to post a lot, but can still be a very active user. |

# merging - the act of joining together as one; "the merging of the two groups occurred quickly"; "there was no meeting of minds"
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn I can certainly agree with the last statement. I have no Agenda Keith I just have this tendency to point out fact (rather irritating sometimes when a ugly fact destroys a beautiful hypothesis). Now how many of the folks who came along from the previous Forums are still active? For that matter does your Membership DB roll back the number when members are removed? I will say the handling of trying to get the members switched over from the other Forums was pretty Mickey Mouse. Congratulations on your work on it. |

I think the point being made is this figure is a rather pointless handy thing is the members page actually will sort by posts...
The point being made even including the single posters we only get 522*30=15000 which is being inflated by spammers.. |

"Quality is still better than quantity. " Jan, I agree with you as it applies to most things with the exception of WAR. Jim

Congratulations on your work > on it. A lot of things changed when the old forums merged. Many of us sacrificed the old way of doing things for a new way we were less comfortable with. Some of us put the openSUSE community first, and began something new. Some folks, like yourself, decided to move in a different direction instead of contributing to OSF. That's your choice, and those of us who decided to contribute by creating the official openSUSE forums wish you the best, but not at the expense of the truth. An attempt to put down the efforts of others that ignores the facts doesn't further whatever agenda you're promoting. The facts of the database merge are pretty interesting. It seems you don't know much about what actually happened, have forgotten the details, or are pretending to have forgotten. Good luck with that. -- Keith Kastorff |

(Huh? Even in military operations, one would reconsider when what you've bought from China does not go off as expected.)
