Will Stallman C# warning fall flat?

Quote:
Stallman’s problem is that this horse has left the barn. C# is both an ISO and Ecma standard. The fact it’s part of a Microsoft-developed Common Language Infrastructure is irrelevant at this point.

Hey!M$ is trying to patent these softwares. I don't believe they are up to good. They must gian in a way or two and that will limit our versatility after they get a patent.

Yesterday Microsoft has announced that it will be applying the Community Promise to the ECMA 334 and ECMA 335 specs. Details here.

By that example like double click i realised this whole patenting stuff is as stupid as the people working in the patent institution. Who on earth would allow patenting such silly things!!!!

Thank god i live in Europe where there are no patents (yet?).

I understand respecting art, music, movies etc. as something that can't be copied without infringing the copyrights but patenting software is just plain stupid. Someone patents double click then patent triple click and sue everyone using this?? It's like everyone has nuclear bombs but they won't use them because everyone else also has them so launching one bomb would destroy everyone. When will people learn

Yeah our patent system is really messed up here. Some people come up with really broad patents then sit around waiting for some company to start making something that fits that patent then sues the **** out of them for patent infringement. I think they are trying to get control of the situation, but suing someone is so easy I wouldn't doubt someone could sue a company for getting a patent and manufacturing something they dreamed of a few years ago.
