Following a slashdot link, I stumbled across this link on how to add USB-3.0 support to a custom kernel:
The Geekess - Linux, bicycling, open source, gardening, amateur rockets, and other seemingly unrelated hobbies. Of course I'm not sure if there are any USB-3.0 hardware devices out on the street yet? I never custom compile my own kernel, so I can not help any adventurous who try this. |

First Linux USB 3.0 drivers emerge - openSUSE Forums
It is going to be included in 2.6.31 and scheduled for Aug end. Not sure about the 11.2 target to include this version.
