Well.. OpenSuse is not my favourite distro, so I choose not to vote on this one.

Well that is sort of the point to this poll, like the question if you dont like OpenSuse what do you use instead?

At the present I'm using Debian Lenny. I have two systems with it installed.

I hop around quite a bit, but otherwise I am primarily Ubuntu at home (desktop, laptop and server).
I have a 2nd hard drive for my laptop which I use to try things out and for demonstrating things for the computer club meetings. I have been trying to get openSUSE installed on there either a Milestone (got lucky with M2, but bear of a time trying to get M3 installed) or at this point any version. I have also played with Fedora on that second hard drive, and also would like to fool around with CentOS for a server at some point. Now if I were to get ANOTHER computer then I am not sure what I would put on it (or how long it would last)

My vote is actually for Linuxmint, which is an Ubuntu derivative but much easier to use for newbies. I set up a friend with it, including an IPCop running in a Virtualbox as a firewall.
One of these nights I'll try to find the time to write about a tale of trying out 3 distros (openSUSE, Ubuntu, Fedora) on a PPC server. |

well,i like mandriva,it's been nice to me during the while i spent using it,there were some bumps during the journey, but it's been a pleasant one

But Re: Linux Mint It's really nice and I have tried it 5, 6, and 7. But only out of interest and experimentation. I have to say, for me at least, it worked perfectly. And as per @ken_yap I agree it's ideal for newbies. Multi-media just works Out of the Box. Having said that, for me, openSUSE just works too. And suits my user experience much better.

Fedora I guess, though haven't touched it since 2 years. I'm mainly a SUSE guy at home and at work...
