• Visual Studio, because I use VB.NET for work and most of my programming experience has stemmed from a BASIC background. I have tried Monodevelop and three things come to mind... it's orientated to C# (which I am using to learn C#), doesn't include GUI building tools for VB.NET applications and it isn't as feature-rich which is good when getting started out.

It does not stick until I click on it but being the visual person I am I like the easy preview without click.. cntrl+z (undo).. find.. click another.. cntrl+z.. etc.
• Yeah, I've heard Google Sketchup runs via Wine alright, but the title of this is "application that you wish existed as Linux version" and I'd prefer a native Linux version over a Wine version. Come to think of it, wish Picasa was a native Linux version too!
• Flash development is in part because a friend of mine is a heavy Flash developer and I know I can't get him to look at Linux until this tool exists. "May" be able to entice his 3D side with Blender (and a lot of beer) but no-Flash development is a deal-killer for him.

That being said, except for my work laptop there are no machines at home that run Windows. I am

• currently trying to use Monodevelop and teaching myself C# though the book I'm using isn't the best
• getting used to Gimp/Krita for images,
• haven't done much with databases yet but looking at trying SQL Sharp GTK and MySQL Workbench when I get the chance, phpMyAdmin and phpPgAdmin(?) are alright I guess
• use OpenOffice.org extensively and trying KOffice as well, KOffice Writer works nicely with text frames so I hope that it may be good enough to replace Publisher for the few jobs we do with that, and Base is getting better though is still a long ways to go.
• going to try Google Sketchup via Wine when I am able to

Just because you believe it is a bad choice doesn't mean it is for
others. In a corporate situation sometimes office is just easier when
dealing with people and places that use it exclusively and won't even
look at alternatives. Not sure why using the best tool for the job you
need to do makes someone a heretic but I guess you can start labelling
me as one since I use OS X, Windows and Linux with Office on both
Windows and OS X.

I haven't been able to get anything but bcharge to work. My blackberry
is an 8700, which seems to be less well supported....honestly haven't
spent a lot of time trying to get it to work, though.
