Default did we need grapfix.app.opensuse discution

HI all
i suggest to made different topic in application discussion - computer graphics, like wine is.
it could discuss all questions about graphics application (inkscape, gimp, blender and respective others including ps2eps graphic converters, color management and separation... printing and scanning problems that implies understanding preparing material to print. So this means that you understand how to set your hardware to work ex drivers etc.

your IMHO is very important...

nobody?
maybe i missed something.... or put a wrong question o wrong put a question...
is it needed to add something or this is not important for yours thoughts?
you making from me david copperfield...
i need to guess what is wrong with question, try to explain more.
  1. I'm understand that every project has own forum to discuss the problem relies to current program. but exist situations when this programs cooperate with each other.
for example i made some vectorwork with inkscape and import it to scribus. My artwork has transparency and has gradients in... and scribus is not supported such technick. How can i solve this(no need to answer it is example)
  2. it is very important for "computer graphics people" that system has support color management... it exist but not supported in opensuse(afaiu).
  3. Impossible to register and monitor all packages that include in opensuse. it much more easier have one novell account and discuss interesting things in one place. i monitor 3 or so forums, I'm sure I can not more
  4. One more thing that is no one of CG man is here... but "under laing stone is no water"tr of "Под лежачий камень вода не течет"
  5. Also I(or someone else) can ask in application topic but it will not reachable for newbies... of cause it can be found by search... this is different.
  6. if it is war for desktop now (afaik it is) it is very important have target election that you have attract. What election want you take? is CG is not in your list no question more. Shooting in the sky is not really resulting to win.

one more try... to discuss this

To be honest I didn't really understand the purpose of the new forum you suggest. Maybe if you can word it in a different way?

I agree, I don't fully understand what the OP is trying to achieve.

I guess didencool is a graphic artist and wants to produce with Linux, and
believes there should be a graphics subforum under applications--like there is
a games forum, for example. And, I guess a pointer to the 'multimedia' forum is
all anyone needed to do.

didencool, ask your questions about graphics converters, color management,
printing, scanning, inkscape, GIMP, monitor calibration and etc in the
multimedia subforum of applications.

I disagree. Multimedia to me is video and audio presentation which, to me, is quite different from DTP, graphics creation, photo processing and general image processing. Hints and tips on creating vector graphics or creating nurb curves isn't really in the remit of producing a video/mp3 of your favourite clips. Perhaps it is the artist in me but I see a big difference between creating artwork and processing a video into divx.

* conram,

the problem I see with very specific forums is, they work only in a perfect world. In the real world, a specific subforum will catch far too many off-topic postings, or will make people post the same question in multiple forums.
I am not convinced we need such a subforum. Yet.

I believe you, I just mentioned it to support eMUNIX statement on the the difference between the multimedia and graphics.

My feeling is those specific topics which the op started can be properly address if he joins the app users forum if it has one. For example "gimp users forums" or imagemagick users forum.

Refer to this links
Gimp Forums
Nabble - ImageMagick forum
