It's completely unknown by me what any of the "skins" look like, and also completely irrelevant. I don't use a browser to read the forums, I use an nntp newsreader (knode) and will stick with that mode of interaction. I understand about half of the forums readers historically prefer this mode. I certainly do. -- Bob Smits - Open Suse Linux User and Open Source Supporter |

opensuse, it just looks nicer. If they reskin the site to look like Opensuse11 then I'll switch to that.

openSUSE as it does indeed feel more spacey and I don't need the extra features when browsing the forums.

openSUSE-Forum is bearable. Though I prefer the OpenSUSE skin because it is lighter and it seems to work better on the schools Browser (IE 6.0 =()

I prefer OpenSUSE because i really dislike the sidebar and i think it's easier to read text on the OpenSUSE theme.

I can haz subsilver?
opensuse-forums: Aside from the annoying sidebar (there is lots of unused white space further down where there is no bar), the replies are separated from each other in a style that makes it harder to find the start of a reply. So prefer sub^Wopensuse. |

I've now switched to exclusively using the openSUSE skin.
The openSUSE-Forums (the default) edit box, with the list of icons on the top, simply display's horribly on my Firefox, with the font selection, size selection, and colour selection, not displaying properly. Its very difficult to use those edit features. Plus, when displaying posts, the size selection does not display properly with the the openSUSE-Forums skin. I've finally reached the stage where I can find all the features I need with the openSUSE skin, and hence no longer need the openSUSE-forums skin for finding things. .... I think, if possible, the "openSUSE-Forums skin" editor display "problems" with Firefox should be fixed. |

Agree with your summary oldcpu, poor use of screen space, font size issues, posts are not clearly distinguishable, etc.
Not sure if others have a problem with column alignment using the openSUSE skin. Would add to your list fixing the front page alignments. Strange that it is present on the top level page and not others. |

I am fully behind oldcpu and vote for making openSUSE the default. The more because everytime I even only want to read a thread I have to login to get the right skin (and timezone). The many logins I have to do already (for more than read-only) are thus multiplied.
(This will not redress the timezone without login, maybe that could be done with a cookie).
