In fairness the latest version of Dolphin isn't too bad. They finally added
some customization options and it hasn't crashed...yet.

Better at being safe. Konqueror4 moved files that I'd not selected. In some
cases, I'd no idea which files were moved or where to.

It is a major bug, over a year old, and still hasn't been fixed.

It may be that you have a particular set of uses which make Dolphin preferable for you. I keep several different screwdrivers for different jobs. That doesn't make one better overall than another.
That's just it. Dolphin can be made to be several different screwdrivers. The setting options in dolphin have a much greater permutations and combinations than konqueror.

Actually there a number of linux file managers that perform faster then both Konqueror and Dolphin that offer support for picture thumbnails and such that dont take forever in loading.
Nautilus for instance, I never had speed issues with it.

Nautilus uses real names not namby-pamby ones

It's called sftp:// and it will open a remote shell if you want.

It has tabs, if that what you mean by splitscreen? I normally have
bookmarks and just drag and drop onto the folders....

This is like a quote from Boston Legal :-)

FYI, I have gnome in F11
I really like it. I'm not anti-gnome.

I know, was just messin with y'all

I like tilda and kde4-yakuake for command line stuff

I'm slowly getting my head back around KDE and it goes quite well on
the netbook. I'm so use to Gnome on Solaris, SLED and openSUSE, the
change is rather monumentous....
