The biggest problem with Dolphin (and Konqueror as well) is that they're both dismally slow with directories containing lots of files.

When browing my Music folder they both literally choke (around 80,000 files with 3500 folders) yet "other operating system file managers" have no trouble with them.

I tried Dolphin and don't like it. I still use Konqueror.

I switched to Dolphin when I found that Konqueror4 was only safe to use if
you didn't use tabbing. Since KDE4.3, when Dolphin tabs were saved from
session to session, I've been happy with it.

I love the choice. For some operations I use konqueror, for others Dolphin, just as it comes. I do a lot of copying over the internet. One of my habits is to have konqueror for the remote files, dolphin for local files and folders.

+1 for Dolphin. At last a simple file manager without the bloat and features I will never use

Can't say I like it, for now. It'll probably improve in time (or die)

<raises hand>

I also don't like the 'Dolphinization' of Konqueror.
Someone got the bright idea that Nautilus was the bees knees so of course
KDE needed a version. I installed Thunar, that's what I'm using now.

What for?

It may be that you have a particular set of uses which make Dolphin preferable for you. I keep several different screwdrivers for different jobs. That doesn't make one better overall than another.

Nautilus works for me ever since it got tabs in Gnome 2.26. I used to use KDE3 Konqueror. Video thumbnailing, network browsing and scripts-on-the-menu are pretty cool features for me.
