Hi there;
Here's important news on using the novatel ovation mc950d wireless USB stick with OpenSuSe version 11.1 Enabled on a Toshiba satellite l300D notebook PC step 1. device is seen as novatel usb_storage device /dev/sr1 Step 2. if using netmanager shut it down. Step 3. as root use eject /dev/sr1 Step 4. issue modprobe -r usbserial Step 5. issue lsusb you should see no mention of novatel device as a usb_storage or modem Step 6. issue modprobe usbserial vendor=0x1410 product=0x4400 Step 7 issue lsusb you should see Novatel modem listed Step 8 issue kppp 8a. configure device-> New name = HSUPA dial = *99# 8b. configure modem->New modem = Novatel device = /dev/ttyUSB0 8c. modem setup -> commands - string 2 = AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","APNstring" where APNstring = internet.com 8d. save and restart kppp Step 9. enter user and password from your provider hope this helps ![]() 8c. set the init string 2 |
