Chrome source code is already available. Afaik, SUSE don't work with google on Chrome atm. And Chrome use WebKit engine (same as Apple and Konqueror), so their is plenty of way to work "together" for a better web browser.

Konqueror defaults to khtml, though you can install a webkit part which you can use in Konqueror. However IMO khtml remains the better choice for Konqueror.

Don't get scared now ![]() Though there has been a lot of FUD going around. I downloaded Chrome just 1 hr after it was released (I keep a 4GB CF card with window$ XP on it so that I can put in my eBox in such cases). What I have found sofar: a. The crash instigated by typing into the Omnibar view-source:% typically has been fixed, it does nothing at the moment, I get an empty page. b. The EULA chapter 11 text has been changed, it seems it was a general text and they made a simple copy&paste mistake. c. Google' Chrome does not send anything back to Mountain View. It seems people do not understand the working(s) of Chrome and many will bash Google just for fun. The Omnibar works as URL bar and search bar. If you type "openSuSE 11 reviews" it will send the query to Google's search engines (how else would you get an answer ?). If you type in an URL it will take you there. d. Google does not log your CC or bank info. I tried this in both modes, 'normal' and 'privacy mode' (have screenshots) after visiting my bank, making some payments, and after that searched for "bank", "saldo" "Rabo" (my bank). Nothing came up. The confusion is that Google indexes your cache, i.e. locally stored info and makes available, this is a feature. All browsers have a cache and there are tools to read this cache. Google put the tool in Chrome. e. Some people wondered how Google's Chrome knew their logings & PW. Simple: when you install Chrome it will ask you if you want to import bookmarks & login data from IE and Firefox. As most (sorry to say) window$ users just click yes on anything they see, they have done so. Chrome just did as they asked. Same thing for the data Google would like to improve their services. You are asked if Chrome may send some dat back to Google, you may decline if you want. Don't forget that if you use 'privacy mode' in Chrome, data is also not stored to cache/locally.

Having said that..... did I mention ?..... that I also tried the 6 URL's that some Korean dude said would crash Chrome or display the calculator on my desktop, as proof of concept that any box running Chrome could be compromised ? Well it did nothing at all (I have screenshots of this as well).
Actually I like the minimalistic Chrome looks, it does all it needs to do (will get Firefox add-ons later). It is safe, privacy minded and light, very light with 4 tabs open I see just 23MB of RAM used, try that with IE or Firefox. Lastly it is fast, as fast as light
