file '/repodata/repomd.xml' not found on medium

In the last few days, I have been getting this error message. I am using OpenSuse 12.3. I believe that the error message started after I followed the process to set up a Samba shared network with Windows XP. I did that because there was an issue with connecting to Windows network, therefore I assumed that it might be the Samba settings.
So, now I get this message:

file ‘/repodata/repomd.xml’ not found on medium

I tried to Yast->Software->Software Management but I also get an error (see similar to the http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/applications/484756-12-3-file-repodata-repomd-xml-not-found-medium.html)

any help? i have found similar posts online, but i could not realise whether and how they might have solved the issue

This is because this repo has been removed: see https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:KDE_repositories

so, how can i replace that so that i don’t get the error messages and also be sure that I get the right updates?

Second notice my repo total and your total. You are asking for trouble with the number of repos your had added. You can remove #13 as it was the install CD, which is not needed. Normally you do not have VLC #22 & #1 and packman #9 at the same time as they contain many of the same files.

thank you, I knew I had overdone it with installing repositories.
I removed some of them now, but I have kept all those that you had.
I have kept one vlc and one Packman, as I had issues with sound in the past and now it works fine, so I would not like to mess it up.

I don’t have the vlc repo added. Why not tell me something that did not work without adding in vlc so I could check the problem?
