Default openSUSE 12.2: "Malformed URL trash:/" reported after clicking on "Trash" on left side of Konqueror

Hello. I installed the openSUSE-12.2, Linux operating system on a freshly formatted partition of my hard-disk drive on September 8, 2012 and then updated it on September 9, 2012. In it I can use either the K Desktop Environment or the Lightweight X Windows System, Version 11 (X11) Desktop Environment [LXDE] and prefer using Konqueror as the file manager. I usually enter it via "File Manager Super User Mode" and entering my root-user password. My trash folder is probably located in my "/home" partition of my hard-disk drive and remaining from a previous, version-12.1 installation of openSUSE.

In probably both the KDE Plasma Workspace and the LXDE when I clicked on "Trash" in the left sidebar of Konqueror and type "konqueror" in the ensuing window and clicked on maybe "OK" to open the trash folder or bin with Konqueror, I received the message "Malformed URL trash:/" (By on the left-hand side of Konqueror clicking on "Places" or "My Places", "Trash" can be seen in a list including several partitions of my hard-disk drive and an external hard-disk drive when it is connected to my computer.). At least once that message appeared on a window labeled with KIOExec, perhaps as "Error: KIOExec". In the LXDE when the trash folder was not empty, by right-touch-pad-button-clicking on "Trash" in that left sidebar, the option "Empty Trash" was displayed in grey text, which generally means that such an option cannot be selected. But of course I would like to see the contents of the trash folder displayed on the right-hand side of Konqueror on clicking on "Trash" in that left sidebar; and by right-touch-pad-button-clicking on "Trash" in that left sidebar I would like to see the option "Empty Trash" in black text when the trash bin is not empty. How may I obtain those desired results?

Nevertheless gratefully there was a "workaround" solution which allowed me to empty the trash bin or folder.----That is in the Konqueror edit control I could type "trash:/" and and afterward on the right-hand side of Konqueror see the names of the contents of the trash folder. Then I could simultaneously press the "ctrl" and "A" keys of my computer's keyboard to highlight all of those contents. After that I could press the "delete" key of my computer's keyboard and confirm that I wanted those contents deleted or removed or something and see those contents disappear from view in Konqueror. That meant that the trash folder was then empty.

You should only use the "File manager in Superuser mode" when realy needed. Not as a sort of alternative for the end-user.

I opened the file manager Dolphin as a root user. Then after clicking on "Trash" on the left-hand side of Dolphin I had no error message; and the contents of "Trash" were displayed.

After clicking on "View" in Konqueror and selecting "Show Hidden Files," a /.local directory was shown in my home directory (~). I tried renaming ~/.local to ~/.local_bak and rebooting into openSUSE 12.2. A new ~/.local was produced for me. But in Konqueror the error message "Malformed URL trash:/", obtained after clicking on "Trash" and typing "konqueror" in the ensuing window, continued to be a problem. Eventually I deleted the newly produced subdirectory /.local renamed /.local_bak in that same subdirectory back to /.local.

But after the above and some more activities something was in the trash folder. Then on right-touch-pad-button-clicking on "Trash" in Konqueror, "Empty Trash" was shown in black text, gratefully solving one of my two posted problems here. After selecting "Empty Trash" and confirming to do that, the next time I right-touch-pad-button-clicked on "Trash" in Konqueror, "Empty Trash" was shown in a grey color. So the events in this paragraph can now be considered normal because one can't remove null contents from a folder. According to my notes, this is an improvement.

Back to the "Malformed URL trash:/" error message, I found another way to avoid it.---I could click on "Trash" in the left-hand sidebar of Konqueror and type "dolphin" as the program to open "Trash" in the ensuing window. Then I think the contents of the trash folder were displayed in the Dolphin file manager.

I still would like to know how avoid the error message "Malformed URL trash:/" after clicking on "Trash" in Konqueror and typing "konqueror" as the program to open "Trash" in the ensuing window. I guess that when things are working correctly in that process I won't even be "requested" to enter the name of the program I want to use to open "Trash." I read on the Internet that in probably another distribution of a Linux operating system one user suggested appending "%u" to some line of code containing the word "konqueror" in some file to fix this sort of problem. Perhaps someone can inform me how I can do something similar to that in an openSUSE-12.2 distribution of a Linux operating system and explain what appending %u will actually do.
