How do I remove the New Activity Tab?

During my last boot something installed itself that is very annoying and I would like to remove it. The upper right side of my desktop has a tab called New Activity and there is a translucent bar across the top. Now when I right click an item on my bottom task bar the menu appears at the very top of the desktop instead of opening just above the icon. This is an improvement? How do I remove this feature?>:(

This is normal, if you mean the cashew

there is a translucent bar across the top
Can you show us? Screenshot post at: SUSE Paste

Try this: Right click desktop > Lock Widgets
Does that change the bottom panel actions

I also learned that I cannot open my desktop widget on my bottom tool bar. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Don’t know what you mean.

Yes, I’m not sure that I’ll find this feature useful yet. AFAIU, its not able to be disabled, but it doesn’t mean one needs to use it.

Interesting, when I rebooted my computer today the “cashew” is gone. If it reappears I will post some screen shots.

Ok, It came back again. It booted without the New Activity tab about 15 times before it returned. Widget locking has no effect. See Image at
SUSE Paste

Unfortunately that image is going to be deleted after 1 week.

Anyway: What happens when you click it?

Unlock widgets and drag it to the top-right corner.

And your cashew is not gone. This ‘tab’ is your cashew. It looks like that if it is not placed in a corner.

I had the same as in your image when I added a new panel to my desktop today.
I think you added something and don’t realise it
or
You have a top panel and it’s pushed the desktop cashew down
Switch off effects and you’ll see it

I tried switching of effects off when it first showed up. No difference. Why would it only show up occasionally when I boot up and then be gone the next time I boot up? I will try moving to the corner like Lord_emsworth sugested the next time it shows up. Maybe that will stop it. Thank you all for your help
