Unhappy Forum USER'S Reputation Goes Down the Drain?

Well First I got the following Error message:

    Message

Our most sincere apologies! The board is unavailable at the moment while we do some work.

We will be back soon...assuming the witch doctor we hired knows his stuff.
Then next, all but one reputation bar has disappeared. I guess you use it or lose it here. So what the heck is going on now?

    Thank You,

Your real reputation around here is what counts, the one you speak about is artificial as far as I'm concerned. (Though I'm sure it will get rectified soon).

Thanks for your kind and reassuring words as always deano_ferrari. But one does wonder what it means is going on with the forum software and database. I guess we will find out in due time.

I don't think they're lost, because if you hover above the one reputation bar you can see a tooltip containing a small description of the reputation.
This is still the same for me, and it displays different messages for different poeple.

Also when you look in your User control panel you can see the number of points you have and for me that didn't change either.
So I think the way reputation is displayed has been changed, maybe on purpose maybe not?

    I totally agree with you.

wow wow wow....i didn't even know that existed!

to all who said 'thanks' by clicking the rep button i now say:

Thanks back! Thank you for using and promoting free and open
software--which i would have said earlier, but didn't know you had
    clicked the thanks/rep button..

jdmcdaniel3, independent of what ever the icons (or computerized tracking/display) may or may not indicate, you can rest assured your presence here on the forum is MOST appreciated and your reputation is of the highest !

    Hello all,

Not sure if it's related but after posting you can't edit your post anymore.
I remember that it was possible to edit your post within a few minutes after posting.

EDIT: I just noticed it is possible again.

    which....hmmmm, i think you can't edit in polls, and maybe . . .]

Unhappy Re: Forum USER'S Reputation Goes Down the Drain?

I do appreciate the very kind words here for me very from some of the best folks I have ever met online. Still, the basic question about why the forum Reputation indicators has changed was not answered by anyone. What does it mean, is there any intention of fixing this or will it join the forum search issues that appear to be unresolvable? I suppose a simple no, it will not be fixed would work here.

It'll be looked at next week most likely. It appears there may have been
a system change (given the change in the favicon I'd say that's probable).

Since it's not a "system down" issue, it's not being looked at on the
weekend, but it is being reported to see what's up.
