Try reverting to NVIDIA 256.53 and see if that fixes it. There have been problems with the latest NVIDIA driver and KDE lately.

It is always a risk. Note packages on other repositories (than OSS, Non-OSS and Update) do not get the same level of testing as one gets with packages from OSS, Non-OSS and Update.

I found on my 32-bit athlon-2800 w/nVidia 8400GS graphics that Virtual Box woud give me a floating point exception every time I updated the nVidia proprietary graphic driver. What worked for me was to backup my .vdi (image file) in ~./virtualbox and then delete the application VirtualBox. Then install VirtualBox, and it would again run without the floating point exception error.

I documented my experience here in post#5 http://forums.opensuse.org/english/o...ml#post2273707

I forgot to mention before deleting virtualbox I 1st renamed the directory ~/.VirtualBox to ~/.VirtualBox-temp (see my linked post)
