    Default HP DeskJet F380, HPLIP

    Hello,

I have seen that this printer is supposed to work properly with Linux, using the HPLIP opensource driver.

I used to have the HPLIP-standalone package installed but with that package, the driver was not automatically selected by YaST and the printer is NOT shown in the printer list.

Therefore, I have uninstalled that package and installed the HPLIP "normal" one (which requires CUPS) since I realized that YaST uses CUPS to print anyways.
Nevertheless, my printer still does NOT show up in the list.

Therefore, I was wondering which printer I should select, knowing that none seem to use the HPLIP driver.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
Use hp-setup (as root user) to set your device up.

Okay, it seems that the packages HPLIP was marked as "taboo" so never installed.

By following this tutorial Install/Configure HPLIP - HP Linux Imaging & Printing | SUSE & openSUSE , the printer works fine.
