Default wlan0:Interface doesn't support scanning : Network is down

I did all steps, which was writed at topic "My wireless doesn't work - a primer on what I should do next".
my wlan card is Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02)
But on 4th step linux say me,that:

    wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:""
    Mode:Managed Channel:0 Access Point: Not-Associated
    Tx-Power=0 dBm
Retry min limit:7 RTS thrff Fragment thr=2352 B
    Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
    Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

    and on 5th step:

wlan0 Interface doesn't support scanning : Network is down

You just have your network connection misconfigured. Go to YAST/Network Devices, edit your "wlan0" connection, supplying the correct ESSID (I bet it's currently empty). You know what your ESSID is, right?

You should try the alternative driver (blacklisting the current one, of course). If you're using ndiswrapper, try out the b43 - Linux Wireless alternative -- and the other way round. Also I've seen this error happening when the wireless switch (button) was off, so please double-check it's on. Another suggestion I've come across: try running iwlist as root.
And please try to express yourself more clearly, just take your time, OK? I can hardly understand your posts...

Hi everybody. I'm really desperate to find some advice (step by step) as to how to get my WNIC from dell (mini pci wlan 1390) which uses the driver "bcmwl5.inf" working here.

I do not have a direct (eth cable) connection to internet. I only have internet access through windows (wifi). So once i get into UBUNTU system i won't be able to connect to make any upgrades on Synaptic Manager. I can however restart and boot Windows system again and DL any necessary data.

I'm very noob at Ubuntu but I am experienced on Cisco platform and OS. I know it might not mean anything here (ubuntu world) but I'm a Cisco Certified (CCNP) and the CLI language is similar.
