DV8000 Wireless Not Working

Alright, so just as a heads up, I am fairly new to linux.

I have an HP dv8000 laptop that is using the intel pro wireless 3945 card that has a kill switch above the keyboard. After I upgraded from 10.3 to 11 my wireless quit working. There is a light right above the kill switch that usually comes on to indicate that the card is on but now this doesnt even come on.

I am not sure if this has anything to do with it but I also added vista to my computer, but I cant say for sure if the wireless quit working after I switched to 11 or after I started dual-booting.

So I’ve googled and googled but I cant seem to figure this one out. Oh, and the wireless works fine when I am using vista.

I am curious if anyone else has had this problem figured it out or if not, maybe someone out there can give me some direction, i am so lost.

Thanks a ton!
Brad

I googled and came up with:

Intel 3945 a/b/g Wireless problem in openSUSE 11.0 | SUSE & openSUSE

A better reference is http://tinyurl.com/5punvq. This one has the
compat-wireless prebuilt for openSUSE 11.0.

Thanks for the advice, I gave that one a try already and I still had the same problem. Maybe I did something wrong though. I’ll give it another try.

Thanks again,
