Where do you get the weather applet? The only widget I find for KDE 4 has been the LCD weather applet.

Or am I just missing something obvious?

Its called yet another weather plasmoid, its in the KDE 4.2+ community repositories
its also in the KDE 4.3 repo too

Also, you can use Multi-service image search to find other/bigger versions of wallpapers. For example, if you search using a desktop screenshot, it's likely that a clean wallpaper will be the result. Very useful.
